Mail Call

Sgt. Gunny from the show Mail Call visited last week, and Todd's platoon got their picture taken with him. The drill sgt. told them if the get a 60% or above on their final P.T. test then they'll get a full-size copy of the picture. Todd is doing alright, but hurt his ankle last week and also still hasn't gotten over a cold that he got at the beginning from the flu shot they gave them. So please keep praying for him, and that the Lord would heal his body. His body just hadn't had the chance to rest at all. Last week they had a 5K road march with full body armor, M16s, and rucksack, and one of the nights they spent out in the field "sleeping" in full body armor in the holes they had dug that day for fighting positions. This week they started doing live M16 firings, so that has been nice for a change. His birthday was yesterday, and he turned 31. Not too many other guys going into the army at his age I don't think :0) He is able to go to chapel on Sunday, and he said the two chaplains both give clear Gospel messages, and are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. They also seem to really be there for the purpose of ministering to the guys, and seem to have a heart for the soldiers. Todd is hoping to get a chance to talk with them sometime. We found out that he won't have a break between Basic and the next part, which is kind of disappointing. He graduates the first of May from Basic, and we'll be able to go up to visit for a day, but the day after graduation he gets shipped to his next phase of training, which is 6 weeks. So, it'll be sometime toward the end of June before he'll actually be able to come home. Thanks to the many of you who are praying for him and for the girls and me. We appreciate it!

Just wanted to say that I am praying for your family! The pictures are absolutely beautiful! The girls are sure growing fast! :)

My kids are sick today! No fun! I think today is going to be a nicer day weather wise before it plummets into the 30's and 40's again. But I am heading south on Friday to MO. Can't wait to be in the warmer weather.

Love to you,
Kendra
